Microsoft will terminate all support for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system as of April 8th 2014. After that date, there will be NO Microsoft security updates will be available for these systems, leaving them more open to infection from malware, keyloggers and viruses. While the computer systems will continue to run, Microsoft will no longer fix any bugs and other security problems that are discovered with the operating system. Newly released software is no longer guaranteed to work on these systems, and you will no longer be able to buy a new off the shelf printer, and expect it to work automatically on an XP computer. Many other newer hardware items will no longer work with XP systems, and some antivirus companies have already announced that they will terminate support for XP.
Due to the age of XP machines, it is our recommendation that you seriously consider purchasing a replacement machine sooner, rather than later. It may well be possible to upgrade your system to a newer version of Windows, but it is probably wiser to consider upgrading to a newer computer due to age more than anything else.
